Zachary Naylor (b. 1993, Waterbury, CT) is an artist interested in the conception of his identity and desires. His practice employs drawing, printmaking, and writing to reflect on how prevailing societal norms and values shape how he connects to himself and others. Meandering about, taking videos of trash, and recording the sounds of traffic coupled with singing birds have become extensions of this practice, creating opportunities for prolonged engagement with his environment. He received his BFA in printmaking from Montserrat College of Art in 2015 and has since exhibited his work throughout New England, including a solo exhibition, “On Becoming Capable of Love”, at Gallery Kayafas in Boston.
