Ohio State is in the process of revising websites and program materials to accurately reflect compliance with the law. While this work occurs, language referencing protected class status or other activities prohibited by Ohio Senate Bill 1 may still appear in some places. However, all programs and activities are being administered in compliance with federal and state law.

Undergraduate Research

The Ohio State University is a renowned research institution. But not all research comes from faculty and graduate students. Undergraduate Art students are encouraged to participate in Ohio State’s community of creativity and exploration. Visit these sites for information about undergraduate research and scholarships:

Many of our very best students have completed research projects, all of which require additional work (minimum of eight credits) beyond the requirements for the BFA or the BA degrees. Students and their Art faculty mentors have been recognized by the Dean of Arts and Humanities for their participation in the Denman Undergraduate Research Forum, where students display their work and talk about it with judges.

Our experience has shown that students who have participated in research are consistently receiving recognition through acceptance into quality graduate programs (most often with funding awards) and going on to further recognition of the quality of their professional work.
