Garrett Metz is an artist with a background in drawing, sculpture and printmaking.  He has collaborated with high visibility artists such as Richard Serra, Julie Mehretu, Michael Heizer, Frank Gehry, and Thomas Demand.  His research interests include new technology, alternative processes and eco-friendly innovations for printmaking and sculpture.

Garrett’s work is characterized by heavy-handed crude strokes and linework, investigation and manipulation of materials, and thoroughly layered textures.  He explores the interplay between deliberate mark making and unanticipated results, striking a balance between formal composition and playful intuition.
