(b. 1989, Cincinnati, Ohio)
My art practice makes connections between art making and fatherhood through explorations of love, joy, domestic space, intergenerational relationships and transnational possibility. I work closely with my 3-year-old, Toko, as a way to disrupt family hierarchies, empower a young child and myself, and translate the experience of parenthood into visual art. Our creative output takes the form of materially rich intermedia installations and artist books.
I have self-published over 30 zines and photo books. My books are held in the Beinecke Rare Books and Manuscript Library at Yale University (New Haven, Connecticut), Brooklyn Museum Library (Brooklyn, NY), Miriam and Ira D. Wallach Department of Art, Printmaking, and Photography, New York Public Library (New York, NY), the Museum of Modern Art Library, New York (New York, NY), The Ohio University Rare Books and Manuscripts Library (Columbus, OH) and Tokyo Photographic Art Museum Library (Tokyo, Japan).
