MACHINE VISISIONS: MAKING ART WITH AI

The hype over artificial intelligence has reached a fever pitch. With the recent release of ChatGPT and Dalle2, questions about the authenticity of artistic labor have caused great anxiety. However, artists have always found new conceptual insights as technology changes. As such, this class is designed for students with no prior knowledge of computation or AI. Instead, this course looks to provide a grounded introduction to artificial intelligence, its histories, its criticism, and its present configurations, all through experimentation. In this month-long intensive course, we will learn through the act of making while engaging AI as both a medium to produce art and as a visual imaginary.
