The Instant Now presents the work of fourteen emerging artists entering their second year in the Master of Fine Arts program in the Ohio State University’s Department of Art. Just as the artists span disciplines, the exhibition spans the university, presenting the works in at least a dozen sites both on and off campus. The exhibition emerges from their common practice, focused not just on materials but place, and not just place but thought. After all, the works often invite themselves into the territory of other fields, though they always protect the autonomy of art.
