Mia Gahrmann is an interdisciplinary artist from New Jersey. Gahrmann holds a BFA in Photography & Video from the School of Visual Arts. She is a recipient of both the Rhodes Family Award for Outstanding Students and the Humanities and Sciences Department Award. Her work has been exhibited and published through several national organizations. Gahrmann was most recently selected to participate in the Contemporary Practices Residency Program at the School of Visual Arts.
Through assemblage, ceramics, and performance installation, Gahrmann explores gender power dynamics within both a religious and societal context.
