Artist Tommy Kha is visiting the Department of Art! Kha will be giving an artist talk at the Wexner Center for the Arts Film/Video Theater on 10/19/2023 at 4:30pm. This event is free and open to all. Please plan to join us & encourage your classes to attend.
Tommy Kha was born in 1988 in Memphis, Tennessee, and lives and works between Brooklyn, New York and Memphis. The artist received a BFA from the Memphis College of Art in 2011, and an MFA from Yale University in 2013. With a humorous and poignant touch, Kha examines how we construct belonging and otherness through photography, inventing new models for self-portraiture with a critical eye toward the medium’s long history of absences and erasure. This artist visit is presented by The Ohio State University Department of Art Visiting Artist Program in partnership with the Center of Ethnic Studies & the Asian American Studies Program, sponsored by the Office of Academic Affairs.
