Professor Crockett's paintings record deliberate acts; they are tracings of what has been made, unmade, and remade and present a topography that hovers between the threshhold of meaning and the destruction of meaning. Crockett has received individual artist fellowships from the Greater Columbus Arts Council, Dresden Reidency 2000, Ohio Arts Council, and the National Endowment for the Arts. One-person exhibitions include Zaks Gallery, Chicago, 2004; Cline Gallery, Ashland OR 2005; Gallery WIJK, Holland, 2001; and Barth Galleries, Columbus, OH, 2000. His work has recently been shown in group exhibitions, including Color, Ohio Wesleyan University Gallery, Delaware, OH, 2000 and Ohio Artists at Roosevelt House, US Ambassador's Residence, New Delhi, India, 1998–2000.
