Cinema, Expanded explores many different forms of contemporary moving image work that attempt to challenge the traditional single-projector black box theatrical screening. In order to enable this exploration, the gallery will transform into a white-walled cinema setting for a series of performances by some of the most significant contemporary projection performance artists from both the US and abroad, as well as a few major works from the expanded cinema canon (including Anthony McCall’s Line Describing a Cone). Regular evening programming during the run of the show will feature a range of performances demonstrating the enormous range of possibilities within the field of expanded cinema. This series is organized by The Ohio State University's Department of Art's Roger Beebe.
Schedule follows. All events are free and at Hopkins Hall Gallery, unless otherwise noted.
Monday, October 15: Kristin Reeves
Wednesday, October 17: Kathryn Logan
Monday, October 22: Anthony McCall's Line Describing a Cone (McCall will not be in attendance)

Wednesday, November 14: Dianna Barrie and Richard Tuohy (presented at the Wexner Center for the Arts | this event is ticketed)
