The window serves as an allegory for screen culture, cultural translation, the flattening of information, and limitless borders. He received his BFA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago and his MFA in painting and printmaking from the Yale University School of Art. Serrano’s work has been exhibited at Jonas Mekas Visual Arts Center, Vilnius, Lithuania; Art & Zimt, Shanghai, China; El Museo del Barrio, New York, NY, and Fredericks & Freiser, New York, NY, among many others. He has participated at the Lower Manhattan Cultural Council Artist Workspace Residency and received the Doonesbury Excellence in Painting Award. His work has been reviewed in The New York Times, Vogue México y Latinoamérica, The New Yorker, Art in America, New York Magazine, and Zing Magazine.
