Columbus-based artist Nathaniel Hartman blurs the boundaries between music performance and sound art.  Since the age of six, Nathaniel has been studying drumset, marimba, snare drum and other percussion instruments.  In 2008, Nathaniel began working with micro-controllers, circuits, and computer programming to achieve new musical textures and landscapes not possible with conventional instruments.  Nathaniel received first place in the Denman Undergraduate Research Forum in 2010, and his artwork has been exhibited in the Columbus area.  He received his Bachelor’s of Music Performance from The Ohio State University and is currently working on his MFA.
