Professor Crockett's paintings record deliberate acts; they are tracings of what has been made, unmade, and remade, and present a topography that hovers between the threshhold of meaning and the destruction of meaning. He has received individual artist fellowships from The Greater Columbus Arts Council, Dresden Reidency 2000, Ohio Arts Council and the National Endowment for the Arts. One-person exhibitions of Crockett's include Zaks Gallery, Chicago, 2004; Cline Gallery, Ashland OR 2005; Gallery WIJK, Holland, 2001; Barth Galleries, Columbus, OH, 2000. His work also has recently been shown in group exhibitions, including Color, Ohio Wesleyan University Gallery, Delaware, OH, 2000; Ohio Artists at Roosevelt House, US Ambassador's Residence, New Delhi, India, 1998–2000. He also has exhibited his work in exhibitions in Cleveland, Dayton, San Francisco, Oregon, Iowa, West Virginia and Texas.
