A technical assistant supervises the photographic facilities that include: black and white labs, color gang lab with 30'' processor for C prints, alternative processes lab, large print lab, enlargers and view cameras through 8'' x 10'', lighting studio, and digital photo lab with 22 Mac stations, 8K film recorder, 4 flat bed scanners, 4 Epson 17" printers, and 2 Epson 9800 printers. Graduate students who study in the Photo area have private and semi-private studios and access to a holography lab jointly operated with the Department of Physics.

In addition, photography students have access to extensive computer facilities for digital imaging and manipulation such as the state of the art Fergus-Gilmore Computer Studio that features high-end archival inject printers, high resolution glassless slide scanners, film burner for 35mm and 4 x 4 film sizes, and color match software. Numerous other computer labs at Ohio State are also available to students, including the Advanced Computing Center for the Arts and Design, known internationally as one of the top centers in animation and 3D modeling.
